deKay's Gaming Diary
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Phew! Turnip price today was 110 bells, which although crap did give me a slight profit. Sold up, and went chatting to animals. Gladys wants a moth, Rowan wants a salmon, Kabuki wants a club shirt, and a couple of other animals want chic furniture. I didn't give anyone anything.
K.K. Slider played me another song - Comrade K.K. In fact, he played me something else first as I pressed the wrong button and chose a request, which of course he doesn't give you a bootleg for.
Robotron: 2084 (360)
I bought a points card today whilst out shopping, so decided to spend some on this. I'd played the demo before and thought it pretty good, and it is. It's a bit bloody hard though! I've managed a few achievements, such as "complete wave 1 without moving" and "complete waves 1-3 in under 45 seconds", but can only get as far as wave 7, so reaching waves 30 and 100 are likely to not happen...
Scramble (360)
With me now in 4th place on my friends list, and with stage 4 still incomplete, I thought it best to have a go to try and put right what once went wrong. So I stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator, and...
Failed. I managed to exactly equal my high score, and I also managed to get further into stage 4 than I'd ever previously done, but it was no-go with the record breakage. Boo.
Saints Row (360): COMPLETED!
Hurrah! Seeing off Price's semi was much easier in an Aqua (a HumVee, basically) full of homies, rather than the crap car you're given for the mission. After a couple of attempts, Price was dead and the game was over!
...except, it wasn't. The credits rolled, but then there were a few more missions to sort out. The police had got involved with the gang wars, and Julius had been arrested by a bent cop. I won't spoil it for you, but the "real" final missions were somewhat, er, explosive...
So then the credits rolled again, only more so, and I played around on some of the multiplayer missions for a while, coming quite close to winning an all-out "Big Ass Chains" session, and failing to score much at all on some deathmatch games. Tch.
Doom (360)
Bah. I spend about 15 minutes completing one level, and then twenty minutes getting lost on the next one, only to die right near the end. Boo.
How annoying.
Densetsu no Stafi 4 (DS)
New gameage! In fact, it came on Thursday, but I only got round to giving it a try today. And it's very cute. There's an awful lot of Japanese text in there, but I just hammered A to get past all that, and on to the platforming proper.
It's very cute.
Completed the first three or four levels, which mainly involved some training sections, and collecting items for water snails and lobsters and stuff. It's great so far!
And very cute. Have I mentioned that?
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Bah. Friday is TURNIP PANIC DAY, and Nook stabs me in the pocket with a rubbish offering of 94 bells each. I paid 96. I'll hope for a 100+ price tomorrow, which from past experience isn't really very likely. Rubbish.
Caught a million different bugs and some fish today too. Also, I have a new animal - Rowan the tiger. He's grrrreat! Aha. Ahahahaha.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
So much for Buck then. He's actually properly bucked off now. Stupid horse. Also stupid was Nook, who offered just 44 bells for my turnips. Racoon burgers it is then.
Not a lot else going to today. Most of my animals seem to be hiding for some reason.
Sonic the Hedgehog (Demo) (360)
No. WRONG.
Remember my rants about all that was horrid with Sonic Heroes? This could actually be worse. NO. Labels: sonic the hedgehog
Doom (360)
There was a surprise game for download on the Xbox Live Arcade service today - Doom! Well, technically it's Ultimate Doom, but anyway.
Downloaded it, and played through the first three levels or so. It's just like it has always been, only in some bizarre 1:1 ratio and smoother than ever. Online, however, it isn't great. Some of the maps just don't work in multiplayer, as people are too high above or below you. Yeah, you can shoot them without aiming up and down, but stupidly you can't see them and you can't look up and down.
Now, I know the original Doom didn't have this ability, but it breaks many of the maps here. Bah.
Saints Row (360)
Rattled through most of the rest of the Rollerz missions, and finished all the Rollerz Strongholds. Progress was again peppered with "activities", although I did manage to complete the demolition derby, which got me an achievement.
After "the thing that happens with Lin which I won't spoil for you", there was a great mission where I had to ride shotgun (or rather, RPG) for Julius on the highway, destroying Rollerz's cars. ACE.
I'm now stuck trying to destroy Price's lorry. I keep getting blown up. Tch.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
52 bells today. Not that I'm surprised. Nook will be when he finds out where I've hidden bits of Timmy and Tommy.
Buck is still MIA. I couldn't find him anywhere. Perhaps Redd has taken him to sell? Redd was about today, but he didn't have anything worth buying.
Saints Row (360)
Didn't play for long this evening. I managed one more Rollerz mission, but had to spend much of my time building up my respect bar to allow me to take part in it. There's not actually much that annoys me about this game, but having to keep stopping the missions to veer off and do sideline stuff irks me a bit. Surely I shouldn't be forced into doing them?
Fusion Frenzy 2 (Demo) (360)
Hmm. This is Mario Party, only without Mario, without the actual game, none of the party, and none of the fun. You get 6 non-descript players, and a few (three in the demo) mini-games. None of those here are any good either.
It's even by the same people as Mario Party. For shame.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Just a brief play today. I have a new resident - Gladys the bird thing. She didn't have a lot to say as she was unpacking. Buck seems to have vanished. His house is still there, but he's not in it or anywhere else in the town. Aliens, probably.
Either that or Nook has sold him for glue. It wouldn't surprise me. I was only offered 55 bells today for my turnips too. He's evil, is that racoon.
Cooking Mama (DS)
Managed to unlock a few more things to cook, taking my total up to (I think) 62. Apparently, there are 76 in total, and I'm almost certain I've done all of them at least twice and taken every available "branch" to open up more options. I can only assume I need "all silvers" or "all golds" or something to get the rest.
Oh, and cutting up meat is hard. Bah.
Wario Ware Touched! (DS)
Gosh. Not played this in aaaages. I found it in my big case o' DS games when putting some other DS cards away, and after a load of Cooking Mama, I decided I wanted more of something similar.
Imagine my surprise when I realised I hadn't actually played all of the game previously. In fact, I hadn't even got the high scores in about half of the characters' sections, so I set about righting that wrong. The robot's levels were hardest, physically in fact, due to all the blowing into the microphone that's required. Gasp.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Turnippage! Spent around half a million bells on turnips, at 90 bells each. Once again, I've left them all round Cheese, mainly outside my house and on the path near Nook's.
Many of my animals were in bed, so I couldn't talk to them, but those who were not were complimented by me as it is Yay Day today. Compliments consisted of "j00 r0XX0r!", "Burgermoo!" and "I wish you dead" amongst other things.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Just a quick extra go this evening, in order to go and visit K.K. Slider and listen to him "do his thang". Or something.
His track today was K.K. Metal, which wasn't fantastic, but a million times better than K.K. Dirge, at lest.
Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: The Genie & the Amp (DS)
Completed several more levels today. They're actually getting a bit easier now, as I keep bumping Ami and Yumi's stats up a bit in the sushi game you play after finishing a stage.
Levels played today included a wild west themed one, and a medieval one.
Simon the Sorcerer (Mac)
OK, so technically it isn't a Mac game. It's actually the DOS "talkie" version, being played on my MacBook under ScummVM. But anyway.
So I explored a few places, found a ladder, tried to nick a broom from a witch, spoke to some woodworm and then reached a troll on a bridge. It has, of course, been hilarious so far.
Cooking Mama (DS)
Having exhausted all of the recipes available to me, I set about finding others. You see, sometimes when cooking you get to open up other recipes along the way, like turning beef curry into beef stew instead.
Found a few more, and now have about 55 or so available.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Oh noes! I didn't play yesterday, so missed out on possible turnip sellage! I could have set the clock back, but I forgot to do so.
Luckily, then, Nook was giving a decent price this morning - 192 bells. That's enough to double my money this week, so I put half in the post office and left the rest in my pockets for buying more turnips tomorrow.
As for other things going on in Cheese, Chief has moved out (already), everyone was talking about Yay Day (which is tomorrow), and Nook was moaning about Timmy and Tommy stealing his honey. Yes, honey.
Saints Row (360)
After a few more (accidental, in one case) hostage "missions", I set about doing the next two Westside Rollerz missions.
The first was a race, of sorts. I didn't have to win, however - I just needed to get close to the Rollerz and taunt them enough to make them use a nitro boost. Which was rigged to make them explode, of course. Obviously.
Then I had to attack some garage owned by Donnie, and Lin (a Saint, but undercover) "saved" him at the last minute. After all that, I drove around a bit and blew things up. I also had a pushback to resolve, which was pretty easy.
Cooking Mama (DS)
More cooking today. Recipes this evening (cooked whilst watching Celebrity Masterchef, bizarrely enough) included curried pork and rice, chilli prawns, hand-rolled sushi, and some strange macaroni dish. ACES!
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Chief is trying to move out already! Gah! He didn't stay long. I tried to convince him to stay, but he didn't seem to be having any of it. Never mind.
Spent a while talking to all the other animals, and I now have two of them asking for chic furniture (which I don't have any of). No deliveries or clothing requests though.
Today's rubbish turnip price was 62 bells. Perhaps buying them again after all this time wasn't the best idea.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Not much going on today, in comparison to yesterday anyway. I have another new resident - Buck (who seems to be a horse), and Nook was buying turnips for just 66 bells. Also delivered a parcel for Sally and gave more medicine to Bluebear (who is still ill), but no-one asked me for furniture or clothes or anything like that.
Cooking Mama (DS)
I completed a few more dishes today, ranging from some quite complex stews to eggs sunny side up, and instant ramen. I really like this game, as although it doesn't show you exactly how to create the food you cook, it does tell you pretty much the steps you need to take. I've unlocked a load more recipies too, so I have about 35 open in all now. Even managed two gold medals today!
Saints Row (360)
Didn't play any more actual proper missions, as I needed to build up my respect bar before they were unlocked, so set about exploring instead. Found three CDs (I now have 10, so it unlocked a music track), and some tag points. Also found one of the cars I needed for a Chop Shop mission, and I spent a while doing hostage runs too.
I got another achievement today as well - 20 hours played. What was interesting is I was checking my stats to see how many tag points I had, and I saw my Time Played stat at 19 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Bizarre.
Cooking Mama (DS)
Yes indeed. A cooking game for the DS. You'd not get one of them anywhere else.
After a slow start (it's actually quite hard to begin with), I'd soon managed boiled rice, stir fry, steak, and all sorts of stuff. It's ace!
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Frobert is gone! He's moved out and left me. I don't actually care though. Everyone was after all sorts of stuff again - Bluebear wanted medicine, Chief, Rodeo and Kabuki wanted clothes, Mallary wanted chic furniture, and then Sally and Purrl wanted me to deliver things. Quite a busy day, really.
And Nook was offering 72 bells. So I shot him the face with a crossbow.
Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi (DS)
Completed another level of this, seemingly set on Easter Island. Had to fight strange masked natives and giant stone Kaz heads. I thought Kaz was supposed to be on my side? Clearly not, since Kaz was also the end of level boss, sitting on a throne-on-a-pole, throwing lightning bolts at me.
As you do.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
And so begins a week back on the stalk market. I haven't missed much - Nook offered me a paltry 75 bells for my turnips, so I murdered his nephews and put their severed heads in his bed. Mhuhahahahahahaha!
Actually, Nook went on about not being able to tell Timmy and Tommy apart, and ranted about one of them asking twice for his salary. Tch.
Frobert is still trying to move out. I made a vague attempt to get him to stay, but didn't really try very hard. He can go now. I want some new animals anyway.
Saints Row (360)
Teh Carnales haev teh ded aussi!
I finished off all of the Los Carnales missions, which (in general) where one hell of a lot easier than the Vice Kings ones. Perhaps it is suggested somewhere that you start with those? I don't know.
Anyway. I had to retry a couple of a strongholds a few times, but two of them were stupidly easy - the tagging one, and the pushing drugs into the water one. Of course, being able to take three homies to the fight really helps.
After that, I did a few activities (some hostage taking, some mayhem, a couple of races, some drug traficking) and then made a start on the West Side Rollerz missions.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Unbelievably, and for the first time in ages, I actually remembered to buy turnips on a Sunday morning. Amazing. I spent about 500,000 bells on them (as I didn't want to dip into my 20 million stash, and dumped them outside my house and Nook's.
Almost everyone was asleep today, so I could only talk to Rodeo, Kabuki and Frobert. Frobert is trying to move out. Again. I suggested to him to stay, but I don't really care if he goes, actually. I have his picture.
Saints Row (360)
Just a (relatively) short go, starting the Los Carnales missions after a few more attempts at mayhem missions.
Only got as far as completing the first couple of missions, though.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
K.K. Slider played me another "bangin' choon" tonight. Well, it was almost a tune, anyway - K.K. Dirge. It was rubbish. I gave him 1/5.
I had a new animal move in today - Chief the wolf. I'm pretty sure I've already had him in my town, but he didn't seem to know who I was and was quite irate when I talked to him. He was busy unpacking or something.
Not a lot else was going on, although it is supposedly the Bug Off tomorrow. I expect I'll forget and not take part, though.
Saints Row (360)
Teh Vice Kings haev teh ded! Huzzah! I completed the last VK mission, and they're all gone from the map. WINNAR.
After that, I spent a while collecting some more cars, then bought loads of bling (which got me an achievement, and also gives me 15% bonus on respect on each mission I complete), then went and did some hijack missions. After that, I did a few more Insurance Fraud missions (and got myself a bonus of less damage taken when I get hit by a car), and then found two vehicles for the Chinatown Chop Shop.
Oh yes, and I ran lots of people down.
Whilst looking for the fire engine at the airport, I somehow hit a rock near the runway and grounded my car. It refused to move, so I jumped out - straight into a small pool of water. And I couldn't get out again. I couldn't move (the pool was too small), I couldn't jump (as it was too deep), couldn't warp to shore (as I wasn't technically swimming), and so I ended up having to save an reload. Hilarity.
Texas Hold'em (360)
Just played on the first of the scenarios this evening. I won pretty easily too, as most of the other players (as well as having less cash than me) had a tendancy to go All In when I had a Two Pair or something. I wiped four of them out in one hand!
I've also noticed that my stats have been reset. I did have something like 700 hands played, and now I'm down to just 250-odd.
Saints Row (360)
Spent about 20 minutes car collecting when I first started playing today. I now have about 60 cars in my garage (including a SWAT van, a load of Five-Os and a couple of ambulances), which gained me the "50 cars owned" achievement. I then went and bought all the clothes I could find (which wasn't really very much), and then went back to doing Mayhem missions. Which were fun, as always.
After that, I decided to play online for a bit. Joined in on a 5 vs 5 "Protect the Pimp" game, which my team lost 3-2. I suspect it was all down to me, as I died almost instantly each round. I did get one kill in, though!
Then I played the "Big-Ass Chains" game, where I collected a total of no chains at all, but my team won anyway - but only just. I did make a few kills, however.
Finally, I played what was essentially a deathmatch in a multistorey car park. There were four of us playing, or at least I thought that was the case until I realised two people were bots. Anyway, I lost. Rubbish.
Scramble (360)
Bah. Trousers has beaten my score of 15,000-ish, with a score of about 25,000. I hate him. I hate him even more because I only managed to claw back as far as 20,800. I can get up to stage 4 without dying now, but usually lose at least a couple of lives there. Stage 5 is horrible, as you have to steer your ship through twisty, narrow passageways shooting fuel tanks. And I'm sure your ship can't move fast enough to do one specific section.
Of course, this means I die and get no further. Boo.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Hurrah! Purrl is better! Even though I'd bought medicine for her today anyway. And she was well, so didn't need it. Ungrateful cow.
Everyone was after furniture. I gave Mallary some cabin furniture, but didn't have what Bluebear or Sally were after. Sally has started saying "quackpth" now, for some reason. It's what Mallary normally says. It just seems wrong coming from a squirrel.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Purrl is still ill. What's that now, 10 days? Shouldn't she be dead by now? My other animals mostly seemed to want me to deliver letters to each other this evening. Don't they have a postman any more in Cheese?
And WEEDS! GAH! Am I the only one in the town who knows how to pull them up or something?
Saints Row (360)
To start with, I thought there was a VK mission available, but it turned out to be a Los Carnales mission instead. I started it accidently, then saved, quit, and reloaded the game. And lo, the Vice Kings mission marker appeared. Bizarre!
I had a go, but it's too hard. You have to drive along with a guy hanging out of the window to scare him, but you soon get three stars and the SWAT after you, and your car (or the bloke) quickly dies.
So I went Mayhem Missioning instead, which is ACEBEST! You have to blow stuff up, with bonuses for certain types of things, or in certain ways. It's great.
Scramble (360)
400 points on this were spent today. It's another old shooter, which I first came across as a clone called Ground Attack on the Spectrum. I later bought one of them Grandstand tabletop games of it too. It was aces.
Anyway. I don't recall it being quite so varied. Especially stage 3, where there are loads of fireballs and stuff. My memory is not what it once was, clearly.
So I got a high score of about 15,000, which puts me at the top of my friends list (for now), with The Rev on 11,000 or so just below me. I've also got about half of the achievements too, notching me up to 85/200 in it.
Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi (DS)
Completed another level (the game is a bit repetitive, so I don't want to play it for too long in one sitting) today - Horror World. Well, actually, it was just set in Slovakia in 1994. But anyway.
The boss at the end was a bit bizarre, as it was three vampire things that jumped around, and you had to kill them by making Kaz drop his pizza by slapping him about. The pizza was garlic, you see. Obviously.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Tuesdays is Crazy Redd day, and today he had a ranch chest (or something) which I hadn't seen before, so I bought that. He also had a sword and a flowery painting, both of which I already had so I ignored them.
Purrl is still ill, although strangely she now seems to be starting an illness. Great. That means I have another week of her diseasedness. Doesn't the world of Animal Crossing have a vet where I can put my animals down?
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Purrl is STILL ill. Kody is still trying to move. No-one seems to be forthcoming with pictures for me. Weeds are taking over the town, even though I keep weeding. I haven't seen a fossil or a gyroid in months. Is the game slowly killing itself?
Saints Row (360)
Cleared all of the Vice Kings' strongholds, and completed a couple of "pushbacks", which all left me with just one area of the map still "owned" by the VKs. I tried going in there with a couple of homies and starting a war, but there just weren't enough Vice Kings around to keep the war going. I still don't have any more of the Vice Kings missions open either, so it looks like I've hit a dead end there. Time to move on to one of the other gangs, I think...
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Guess who forgot to buy turnips again?
No, go on. Guess.
I didn't do much else either, except a bit of weeding and tending to Purrl (who is still sick). Rodeo asked me to deliver a letter to Frobert too, and Kody was threatening to move.
Saints Row (360)
I'm still working on the Vice Kings missions, with some other activities thrown in for good measure. I really like the Insurance Fraud ones, which are especially easy with a SWAT van!
I seem to have run out of Vice Kings missions now, actually. There are some crown markers on the map (all denoting strongholds), but no actual missions. Odd. I expected at least one more.
Roamed the map for a bit, started a car stealing activity, and then went and took part in the demolition derby. ACE! I'm really enjoying the game now, but the lack of motorbikes still makes me cry real actual tears...
In The Groove (Demo) (Mac)
In The Groove is a DDR type game, and this demo is for the PC or Mac, and came free with my recent Play Asia order. I only played a couple of songs, as dancing games don't really work using a keyboard, so there wasn't much point trying further. It's OK, but almost exactly the same as DDR. Only with completely unknown tracks.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Saturday evening again, and another trip to the cafe to see K.K. Slider. This time, he played me Senor K.K. The rest of the animals failed to pester me for items of furniture and clothes today, which was nice, although I did have to give Purrl some more medicine as she's still sick. Why does it always take so long for the animals to get well again? Perhaps there's a clue in their dialogue when they say things like "I ate pecan pie all morning and then went collecting furniture!".
Oh, and BLOODY WEEDS!
Saints Row (360)
Played quite a bit more of this today. I was mosting completing things on the Vice Kings mission line, including blowing up a recording studio, taking over some "hoods", and racking up my money and "rep" by doing side activities. The best of these activities that I've tried so far is the Insurance Fraud one. You have to throw yourself under cars to claim money on your insurance. Of course, trying to bounce yourself off the bonnets of several cars, in front of witnesses, is great fun. However, it is much easier to nick a police car, get into a head-on collision, and fly through your windscreen. Instant multipliers for distance, airtime, and most importantly, for the accident involving a "civic vehicle".
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Weeds. Where the hell are they all coming from? There were millions of them again today. Spent a while cleaning them all up, and then went fishing. Caught a few fish I haven't had before, and talked to the animals again as usual.
Saints Row (360)
Started playing this today. Completed enough of the first missions to open up the Vice Kings missions, which I've made a start on. Also took part in several side "activities", such as Snatch, in order to get my respect bar up - you need to do that in order to open up more main missions.
So far it's pretty good, although it isn't as great as San Andreas. It doesn't have bikes. Or helicopters (yet, at least), fire engines, or even many hills. It's just too flat. But it's not bad.
Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi (DS)
Hmm. I t seems that saving your game in the middle of a level doesn't actually let you restart from that point next time. Which is a pain.
That meant I had to redo the whole level, but at least they're not too long. Got a few more things from the vending machine (including a new outfit and a new guitar, the latter of which spits out fish - no really). The boss at the end was a big TV screen, and was pretty difficult, but I managed it in the end.
Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi: The Genie & the Amp (DS)
This game was super cheap at Play Asia, so I bundled it in with another game. I love Puffy (the band), but am not keen on Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi (the cartoon), so it was a bit of a split decision to buy the game. Cheapness won out, though. As usual.
And, well. It's very odd. Imagine crossing Streets of Rage with Guitar Hero. And then coating it in Viewtiful Joe and Alien Hominid stuff.
It's a side scrolling beat 'em up, where you fight bizarre baddies through different periods in time (including The Day Before Yesterday) by strumming guitar strings on the DS touch screen. Strum differently for combos and stuff. There are UFO catcher machines for unlockables and collectables, and buy stuff from vending machines. Yes, it is strange.
I completed the first level and am now halfway through the second. It's a bit repetitive, but fun at the moment.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Not much going on in my town again today. I just spent a while talking to animals and finding that I still don't have access to the stuff they need (well, except Bluebear's modern furniture, but I think she has more than enough of that already).
I must have pulled up some 30 weeds too. I don't know where they've all come from, but there are loads around at the moment. I've also noticed that it hasn't rained in a couple of weeks, I haven't dug up a gyroid in several months, and haven't seen a fossil in ages.
Pac-Man (360)
As my gamerscore was getting close to 4000 points, I needed something to give me a few extra points to bump me over. Pac-Man gave me that, with the "Clear Round 21" achievement, which I managed today. I now have 4001 points!
Table Tennis (360)
Completed the tournement I started last night, which ended in my victory, and I unlocked a couple of achievements as a result. I lost the first game, but won the other two.
I then played an online game, and lost without scoring a single point. Rubbish.
Time Pilot (360)
Since Mr. Trousers has beaten my high score (by just 500 points - 245800 vs. my 245300), I had a go at reclaiming my crown.
Not a hope in hell. After several goes, I only broke 100,000 once, getting something in the region of 115,000. Gah. My 1337 skillz are depleted.
Table Tennis (360)
Fancied a change and so dusted off my unplayed copy of Table Tennis and gave it a go. Completed all of the training sessions, getting a staggering 5 gamerpoints for the achievement. Tch.
I then took part in the Amateur Circuit tournement, and totally thrashed the first two opponents. I won the third match 2-1, which was a lot closer, but I saved my game and quit for the day as it was getting a bit late.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Redd had a couple of things I didn't have already today - a hospital bed and a judge's bell. So I bought them. I still don't have access to any of the items that my animals are asking for, so I hope they change their minds soon...
Purrl is still ill. I've been giving her medicine each day, so she should be OK soon.
Secret of Mana (SNES)
After a bit of wandering round, I realised I probably hadn't completed the dwarf mines bit of the game, so I went back in. Found a Sprite, who conned me out of 100 Gold. However, I got it back after I defeated a boss and it joined my "party". It's crap though, and it died several times before I got to the Haunted Woods. Once in the woods, I found the girl from before (who had left me) and she joined my party again.
We all pressed on into the woods further, and found a castle with a witch in it. Who made some guy disappear, and then set a tiger on me.
And the tiger killed me. Bah.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Not much going on in Cheese today. Animals were still after stuff I don't have, Purrl was still ill, and weeds were everywhere. Got a letter from Redd with this week's password (as usual for a Monday), and also managed to catch a cricket and a bell cricket, neither of which I'd managed to net previously.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Stupidly forgot to play this again yesterday, so I time-travelled back to last night with the intention of visiting K.K. Slider. Only I got caught up in the flea market goings-on, and completely forgot that too. Gah.
Purrl was trying to move out, but I tried to persude her to stay. It worked too, as she was still there when I wound forward to today. She did, however, get ill overnight. All my animals are still after stuff that I don't have and can't get hold of. They'll be asking for the moon on a stick next!
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
Still working my way through the Dark Brotherhood quests today. I had to go and kill and old man (who I never even got a chance to see), and then to infiltrate the Imperial City prison to kill a prisoner. This quest was interesting, as I had to go back into the prison the same way that I came out of it at the start of the game, some 100+ hours game time ago. Ace.
Then I had to pretend to kill someone, so that someone else thought he was dead. And then revive him. It was a bit bizarre.
Anyway, so I've risen up through the ranks a little, and now I get my orders from someone else. That's a few more achievements earned too.

After the last of the Mages Guild quest, I was awarded a magic chest which duplicates ingredients. I didn't bother trying it, though, instead returning to my house in Bravil to dump a load of stuff, and then being told my Dragon Armour was ready to pick up from the Imperial City armoury. So, I went off there to get it.
Most of the armour is an improvement over my current stuff, so swapped a few items over. I still kept my boot o'aceness though.
I then started following the Dark Brotherhood questline. Went to Cheydenhal to be initiated into the group, talked to the followers of the Night Mother in the sanctuary there, and bought a Bow of Flame (which is a bit better than my now aging Bow of Embers). Was given a "contract" - to kill a pirate on the ship at the Imperial City waterfront. So I did, and it was easy. Returned to Cheydenhal for my next quest, although I haven't started it yet.
