deKay's Gaming Diary
Time Pilot (360)
Played this for quite a bit this evening. Managed to get another achievement, but still need to get to 2001 without losing a life, and to destroy 10 bombs in 1910. Both of which seem somewhat hard...
I also played against Trousers online. He beat me. Three times. However, I still have the highest score on my friends list (and I'm 44th in the world at the moment), which is far more important. Obviously.
Texas Hold'em (360)
Played, and won, a whole actual tournament today. Hurrah! It seems the best thing to do is just chip away slowly, waiting patiently until you get a good hand and then start betting slow (or everyone folds) and then hook a fish and reel him in.
Or something.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Grr. Everyone is after stuff again. Can't these animals go shopping on their own? Bluebear wants more modern furniture, Kody wants chic furniture, Kabuki wants a shirt, Rodeo (who now says "burgermoo") wants a shirt, and one of the other animals wants some sort of fish.
Can I run them all down with a lawnmower?
Time Pilot (360)
Time Pilot was on the Xbox Live Arcade downloads thingy today. I have played it a bit before (and actually have a copy of it on Konami Arcade Advanced for the GBA), but I don't remember it being very good, nor me being very good at it.
So I bought it anyway (400 points, about £3.40-ish), and it's great. I think it's the online leaderboards that make it - just like Pac-Man and Frogger and all the other arcade "classics".
On my first go, I managed 92,000 points. That got me to first place on my friend's list instantly, but I was soon beaten when other people got scores of around 110,000. Then, somehow, I managed to get "in the zone" and knocked up 245,000 points. I also unlocked most of the achievements in the game, with only three remaining. Acecellent.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Bluebear and Purrl were having a conversation today. It went much along these lines:
Purrl: "You're not dancing hard enough!" Bluebear: "What? This a dance-off? I'll win!" Purrl: "Woot! WOOT WOOT!" Bluebear: "Woot! WOOT WOOT!" Purrl: "This is so much fun! It's like THE BEST THING EVER!!"
Scared, I am.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
Hopped back into this for a short while, to kill some more vampire hunters in Skingrad. That was an easy enough task, but the guards caught me and I had to pay a fine for murdering them. Bah.
So the Count was pleased with my killing spree, and gave me some information for Trevan back at the Mages Guild. I passed on what he told me, and Traven said he'd have to consult with the Council over what course of action to take. This now leaves me with no idea of what to do to progress with Mages Guild quests, with no line to take. I even tried waiting for 48 hours to see if that'd give him time, but no.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Crazy Redd had nothing of interest for me again today. I haven't had a new painting in months now, I don't think.
I got a letter from Bunnie. She's moved out. Tch. I'm not really bothered, as I had her picture anyway, but she didn't show any sign of moving on (unlike Kabuki and Kody who both seem to threaten to go every day or so). In her place is Purrl, who is a cat. I've stolen her from my wife's town, it seems.
Kabuki is after a misty shirt still, and Rodeo is also after a shirt (but I've forgotten the name of it), neither of which are in my catalogue. Gah. Bluebear wanted more modern furniture, so I have her a desk I found. I'm amazed her house doesn't burst open, it must be so full...
Secret of Mana (SNES)
I didn't really intend to get into this. I'd only set my US SNES up to test it on my new TV, but somehow got drawn into it. I've not really played it much before, but I've put a couple of hours into it this time so may "go for the win". You never know.
So I've started off, killed the giant Mantis Ant, gone to the Water Temple, found a girl in a castle who joined me, went to get my sword tempered (instead of doing what the girl wanted, so she left) and visited a few towns and villages. And killed a lot of stuff.
Now I'm a bit stuck. I assume I need to go to the woods where the witch is (who as put a spell on lots of people in the city the girl came from), but I don't know how to get there.
Assorted Xbox Live Arcade Games (360)
Played a few of them, but not for very long each, so I'm listing them all together. Firstly, I played Uno online for a few rounds, and almost won one of the rounds when someone joined and instantly won the entire round with 341 points on a single hand. Gah.
Then I played Marble Blast Ultra, which looks especially nice in HD and lets you see a lot more of the play area as a result. Got par times for a few of the harder courses, then played online for a while.
After that, it was time for Outpost Kaloki X, and I started on the War Story set of missions. It's easy enough so far, and I've got through the first five missions already (netting me an achievement too).
Finally, Texas Hold'em was played offline for a few hands. Didn't really make much money, though.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
I'm still playing. I keep thinking I'm bored of it, and yet still play and enjoy it. It's either genius or crack. I don't know which.
Anyway. Animals were not after anything today. I thought I'd go bug-catching, but couldn't find a single bug. I also realised that I'd forgotten again that I hadn't seen Joan and bought turnips. Bah.
Tetris (Famicom)
Aha! I'm not as crap at this. Played for a good 20 minutes or so, and only stopped as I had something else I needed to do instead. Like Pac-Land from earlier, the controls are a bit wonky - down is rotate, and A is drop. Bizarre.
Go (Famicom)
Another NTSC console gets an outing - my NeoFami. And which game to play first? Go! Hurrah.
I'm crap. And that's all I have to say.
Ai Cho Aniki (PCE)
Best most gay game ever!
I don't really like shooters, and this isn't really that great an example of the genre, but in the same way that I love playing Parodius because of its amazing levels of sillyness, this is just bizarre to great excellence.
Sadly, I'm rubbish at it and so only got as far as level 3.
Bomber Man '93 (PCE)
Another PCE game to play for a bit. Bomber Man is always great, isn't it? Well, except that shonky Atomic Bomber Man for the PC. Or Bomber Man: Act Zero. But aside from them, they're all ACES.
And this is ACES too. I finished all of the first world, and then set about the first couple of levels for World B. One thing which this version does, which I don't recall any other version doing, is it flashes the block the powerups are stored under once the baddies have all been blown up (assuming you haven't found it already). Very handy.
Pac-Land (PCE)
I've just realised - I've had this game for ages but haven't added it to my Games List. How lax of me.
Anyway. With a new TV also comes the ability to play NTSC-based consoles, which I haven't been able to do previously. This, of course, means that I got the PC Engine Duo-R out, and played some games on it. First up, Pac-Land.
I loved it in the arcade, and was always disappointed with every home version I'd ever played since. They all lacked something - either the graphics were crap, the game was different, or it ended up being flick-screen. Not so with the PCE version! It's PERFECT. I'd soon managed to get half way through the second trip, but as I was never especially good at it, I got no further. Bah.
One bizarre thing, is the controls. To go left and right, you don't press left and right, but I and II (for those not in the know about PCE pads, I and II are like B and A on a NES pad). To jump, you press any direction on the D-pad. It's loopy.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Another day, another visit to Cheese and some chatting with my animals. No-one has moved out, which was a surprise. And no-one is trying to move either, which is even more of a surprise.
K.K. Slider played me "Mr. K.K." when I went to see him, and Tortimer was dishing out more fireworks this evening, as it was another firework display. It's the last one this year though, he says.
Prey (360): COMPLETED!
Well. The last few levels were somewhat short, and then they had that SuckySuck(TM) bit (where they made me fight all the previous bosses one after another), and there was a bit where I actually had to kill my girlfriend that I has spent the entire game trying to save. Yes. I had to kill her. I didn't even want to. It was sick.
Anyway. The last level was the same boss over and over again (which was just crap), and the final end of game boss was so easy I didn't even take a hit. Rubbish.
So, overall, the game started well, dipped a bit then rose slightly, before dropping almost off the bottom of the scale near the end. Tch.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
I haven't played this in a while, but, again, with HDTV it's come out of the cupboard for some more play.
And it looks amazing. But enough of that. Decided to pursue the Mages Guild questline. This meant finding a cave on the east of the map, where some necromancers have been up to naughtiness, and then locating a mage spy inside. I was helped for all of five seconds by a battlemage, who instantly got killed by a trap. The spy had also been turned into a zombie, so was pretty useless. Anyway, that was the end of that quest, and I gained a rank (and an achievement). There then followed another quest (which was pretty easy) which got me another rank and achievement.
I'm now in Skingrad killing vampire hunters. Hurrah!
Assorted Games (360)
With the new HDTV, it was time to try out some of the XBLA games and see how different they looked. Texas Hold'em was now actually readable, which is nice, and Geometry Wars is, well, bigger. And seemingly more colourful too. Frogger is just the same, only sharper, and Hexic HD is much easier on the eye.
Prey (360)
Woo! I have a spangly new HDTV, so I played through a level on this just so see the difference. And oh my - is there a difference. Everything looks a million times better, and suddenly the 360 looks like an actual "next-gen" console should. Amazing.
But as for the game, well. There was more flying (rubbish) and some running around on tiny planetoids, but that was about it. Nothing particularly great. Only about four levels left now, though.
Just Cause (Demo) (360)
Just a quick mention of this, since it's only a demo. The graphics are nice, the landscapes are almost Oblivion-level of detail, and the four missions you have to do in the demo (I got as far as the fourth, then died) are pretty varied in execution. I like the fact there are bikes, helicopters and boats - all missing from Saints Row.
Texas Hold'em (360)
Played quite a few hands on this this evening, mainly in offline tournaments, but didn't end up winning all that much money. Played online for a bit too, but everyone kept quitting out again so it was pretty pointless.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Yet more stuff was given to animals today, and finally all my hard work paid off with Bluebear as she finally decided to give me a picture of herself! Bunnie then asked if I still had the picture she'd given me, and practically invited herself into my bed when I told her I did.
Not a lot else was happening in Cheese, although Rodeo is now better, and Kody is trying to move out again.
Texas Hold'em (360)
This is what I was downloading when playing Pac-Man earlier. For today and tomorrow, Microsoft are giving it away for free. Aces!
It's pretty good too, if a little hard on the eyes. Maybe a new HDTV will help there. Like the one I ordered today! Anyway. I played offline for a bit to get a feel for it, then played a few random people online until the connection dropped out. I then tried to play Becs of off my friends list, but she quit (although claimed it was me that quit) and after trying for ten minutes to get back into Live I tried to play Meerman only to have Live drop out again. Bah.
But at least offline it was OK!
Pac-Man (360)
Whilst waiting for something else to download, I decided to try and progress through this a bit. I wasn't going for a high score (although I see I'm now 4th, not 3rd, on my friends list), but instead aiming for the Clear Stage 21 achievement.
I managed to complete stage 14. And that was all. Rubbish.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Let me tell you about how strange Animal Crossing is. Well, perhaps not strange as such, just a little wrong. Or warped. Or something.
Sally and Kody were talking, and if two animals are talking you can kind of listen in (and sometimes take part) in their conversation. So Kody says to Sally: "No! Keep away from me! Don't come near me!". Sally responds with "Eh? What? Why? I'm not going to hurt you!". "No, it isn't that! I was doing lightning thrusts and split my pants!", says Kody, embarrassed. Sally laughs at him, but then says, "Er, hang on... you don't wear any pants! So... what exactly did you split?". "Uh, I have to go!", replies Kody, and leaves.
Totally, totally wrong.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Rodeo is still ill, so no-go with the prism shirt still. Kabuki is after a skull shirt now, so I ordered one, and Bluebear wants yet more furniture, so I ordered that too.
Crazy Redd was about again today, and had a Perfect Painting for sale. I bought it, not realising I already had one. Bah. I also found that you can't actually tell if it's fake if you've already donated one - Blathers just says "lets not consider which is the fake one, yes?" or something along those lines. I'm betting he's the one flooding the market with knock-off Masters, you know.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Bah. Once again I forgot to go and buy turnips on a Sunday. Thats about four weeks running now. Rubbish.
Didn't play for very long today - just time enough to visit all my animals and pander to their wants and needs (clothes and furniture again), and also to do a bit of weeding and stuff.
Prey (360)
More working my way through this today, but only a couple of levels. I was a bit wrong about the levels getting shorter, as I got stuck on a stupid exoskeleton-shuttle flying bit for ages as there was no clue as to what I was supposed to do, nor where I was supposed to go. Tch.
Anyway, sorted it, and finished with the silly flying bits (for now, at least) and moved on to more indoors bits.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Still can't give Rodeo his prism shirt, as he is now ill. He's probably got mad cow disease or foot and mouth or something. Stupid animal.
Gave Kabuki a purple tie-dye shirt, and Bluebear more modern furniture, and then went and talked to all my other animals. Kody is trying to move out now. What is it about me? Almost every day one of my animals is trying to leave. Tch.
At 7pm the fireworks started again, so I went off to see Tortimer for some sparklers and roman candles. At 8pm, I went to see K.K. Slider, who played me K.K. Ragtime. Found a few fossil too, and went fishing for the first time in ages.
Prey (360)
Played quite a bit now, and got past rescuing Jen (only for her to be kidnapped again), did some flying around in a vehicle thing, which was odd, and faught what could be considered a few boss battles. I'm on level 14-ish now, and the levels do seem to be getting shorter and shorter - just like Amped 3 and Tomb Raider: Legend. Is this a 360 game trend?
Had some more play online too. The lag was slightly better than yesterday, and I managed quite a few kills (but no wins). That gained me the first online achievement. Hurrah! I have 3226 gamerpoints now too.
Prey (360)
I'd hoped to fly through a few more levels on this today, but it took over an hour to do just one. This was mainly due to me getting stuck and having no idea where to go for ages, before finally realising the puzzle was somewhat easier than I'd expected and so moved on. The freaky ghost kids are scary, aren't they?
Also played online for a bit, but couldn't even get into a ranked match, and the lag in "normal" online matches was so bad it made killing almost impossible. Bah.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Rodeo still wouldn't ask me for his prism shirt he wanted, which is a pain as I'm sure I'll forget what it's for and sell it accidently when doing my daily buy-clothes-and-sell-them thing. I'm doing that to get all the clothes I don't yet have, but I'm sure I'm buying mostly duplicates.
Bluebear wanted yet MORE furniture today. I didn't have any, so had to order some. Kabuki is still here, although I'd half expected him/her to vanish overnight...
Prey (360)
It was cheap (from PlayAsia), so I bought it. I do like it, as it's a bit different to other FPS games, due mainly to the portals and gravity-altering thingies.
I'm up to Chapter 7 or so now. I haven't had an especially difficult time yet, not least because when you die, you don't actually die - you have this minigame where you shoot down bat things to get health back. As you do.
I just wish Tommy (the hero) didn't keep f**king swearing all the f**king time for no f**king reason.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Again, Bluebear was after modern furniture. There's no space left in her house, though. My wife came over to visit, bringing a prism shirt for me to give to Rodeo, but Rodeo wouldn't ask me for one! Gah! Instead, he kept telling me he loves me, and wanted to hear me tell him I loved him too. The freak.
Not much else was happening in Cheese today. Kabuki is trying to move out again - that's the third or fourth time in a week or so now. Stupid cat.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
The him/her that is Kabuki is still in Cheese, so he/she didn't slope off anywhere. It asked me for some clothes today, so I gave it some, and was told I was "actually quite cool". Well, of course.
Also after clothes, were Frobert and Rodeo. Frobert took any old crap I had, but Rodeo still wants the elusive prism shirt. Bluebear wanted even more modern furniture, so I gave her some. Kody is finally better. He's been ill for weeks, but I didn't give him any medicine as I was hoping he'd die, so I could see how many bells Nook would give me for his rotting corpse. But no.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Crazy Redd actually had some stuff I wanted to buy today. Picked up a nice painting, although I now realise I have't checked to see if it's a fake or not, and also a well, since I hadn't seen one of them anywhere.
Bluebear was after even more furniture today, so I obliged with a modern sofa. Rodeo is still looking for a prism shirt, but I still haven't seen one in the shop. Kabuki is trying to move out yet again. I might nail him to his house. That'll learn him. Or her. I'm still not certain either way...
Outpost Kaloki X (360): COMPLETED!
I completed scenario 14 with just one minute to spare. Hurrah! That turned out to be the last scenario in the Adventure Story, and so I got the completely hatstand end of game sequence, and then it was all over.
Well, all over except for the other scenarios, of course.
I tried the Survival scenario, and got a Silver time of 14:36. I'm betting a Gold time was 15:00. That'd be about right. I then had a go on a sandbox level, and built at least one of every expansion possible. OK, so it didn't earn me anything, but it was ace anyway.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Didn't play for very long again today - just enough to talk with my animals, make sure no-one had moved out (they hadn't), give Bluebear even more furniture, buy some clothes I didn't have already (and gave a shirt to Frobert), and do some weeding.
Caught a few insects too, but it seems I already had them all in the museum. Tch.
Interactive Fiction Game
Here's a small update. I've fixed a few things, added the beginnings of another room, and allowed you to examine some more stuff.
Amped 3 (360): COMPLETED!
Rather fittingly, the game kind of snowballed to a finish. The mountains got smaller and smaller, the number of things required to be done to progress the story became fewer and fewer, and then, Act V lasted all of about five minutes.
But the ending was GENIUS. I won't spoil it, but it was a Giant Musical Finale. And the very last "thing" you have to do is suitibly epic, complete with epic music and stuff. Aces.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
First off, a bit of time travelling. I was out last night so couldn't visit K.K. Slider then, nor could I "enjoy" the fireworks, so I put the clock back and did that. K.K. played me K.K. Bossa, and I got more roman candles and sparklers from Tortimer.
Coming back to today, and Bluebear had had a change of heart and decided to stay. She wanted even more furniture, though. Frobert wanted clothes, which I supplied, and Rodeo is after a prism shirt, which I don't have access to in my catalogue.
Metroid Prime Hunters (DS)
Hmm. I haven't played this in ages and appear to be lost. I landed on Lava Land (or whatever it is called) and warped back to the last bit I'd got to. There was a locked door, so I backtracked a bit, found a new route, and opened the locked door from the other side. Erm.
That means I have no idea where to go. I thought maybe I needed to go back to the Celestial Archive, but there was nothing there. Decided to play multiplayer over t't't'tinternet instead, and found one person to play against who kept killing me with some homing shock wave thing, or with from-a-mile-away headshots. Bah.
Amped 3 (360)
Worked my way through most of (well, a lot of - I think I'm almost there) Act III on this today. I have about half of the mountains unlocked now.
The story is nuts. The cutscenes were obviously created when on drugs. The challenges are bizarre. I love this game.
Outpost Kaloki X (360)
Ripped through a few more levels today, reaching level 14 (which I've now found out is the final level). None of them seemed that difficult, although Level 11 was completed with just seconds to spare. Level 14 is a nightmare, however. You have to build a Jewel Exchange and a Dance Club, both of which are easy to do. However, you then need to make $50,000, which just doesn't seem possible in the given time.
I managed to get to about $35,000, and was in the process of selling all my expansions for CAHS MONEY$ when the time ran out.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Not a great deal to do in Cheese today. Did the usual bits, weeding, fossil digging, as-yet-unbought-item buying, and talked to my animals.
Frobert didn't move out, although I sort of wish he had, really. However, Bluebear was trying to leave today. I tried to convince her to stay, as she hasn't given me her picture yet. She's a selfish cow (uh, or bear) though, as I've given her all that stuff and she's clearly not returning the favour.
So I put a horse's head in her bed. Well, I would have done if I could.
Outpost Kaloki X (360)
Completed levels 9 and 10 this evening, without any problems. Yeah, so I'm only get Bronze times, but it's waaaay to hard to go for golds. Besides, apparently theres a bug in the game making it impossible to get all of the golds (and therefore all of the game's achievements), so it's not worth trying.
Pac-Man (360)
Rubbish. SomethingWitty has beaten my score, and now sits at 19870 points. I spent a while working through a few more rounds, then decided to take on his score.
After about ten attempts, the best I'd managed was 19770 - just 100 points short. That's just ten more dots. Bah.
However, roberthazelby on my friends list has over 70,000, so I took some solice in that.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
More Modern Furniture had arrived for me to give to Bluebear today. I wonder if she'll actually stop asking for it now? I must have gieven her about 5 items, so I expect a picture some time soon...
Not a lot else going on in Cheese today. Apparently there's another firework display tomorrow night, according to my notice board. I say my first scorpion today too, and even though I saw it before it saw me, I mis-swung my net, failed to catch it, and it stung me. I passed out and woke up outside my house. Nice.
Pac-Man (360)
Hurrah for two things! Firstly, I unlocked two more achievements, leaving just three to do. Secondly, and most importantly, I whipped SomethingWitty's score by many thousand points. I hope he cries like a little girl.
Which I imagine he is anyway.
Amped 3 (360)
Gosh. Remember this? I played it a while ago. Well, I've got back into it. Pushed through on the story a bit, getting onto Act III on a new mountain. Have done some of the challenges and media callouts, and have "found" the yeti.
I've now started doing some challenges for some woman on a poster. Yes, really. Complete with scary male fairy things. Hmm. Drugs are bad, m'kay?
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Passed on a Modern Lamp to Bluebear, who went on about me having "kid in a candy store" eyes when I spoke to her. The minx. Also wrong was the conversation I had with Sally, which I won't repeat.
Actually, I had some bizarre conversations with most of my animals. Frobert was itching to leave, but when I said "don't go", he said something about him never really meaning to go. Even though he was fully packed. Hmm. I didn't try too hard to convince him to stay. After all, I already have his picture, and I'm a bit fed up with him wanting to see me flex my muscles.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Just a quick play today to make sure none of my animals were trying to move out or anything. They weren't. Dug up quite a few fossils today, and bought some furniture and clothes I hadn't seen before too.
Bluebear asked for more Modern Furniture, but I didn't have any so had to order some. She'd best bloody take it this time, as last time she told me she'd stopped collecting it! Kill.
Outpost Kaloki X (360)
Aces. I managed to complete Level 7 easily this time (well, I had about 15 seconds remaining, but still...), and then went on and completed Level 8 first attempt, without any real problems. That unlocked me an achievement, meaning I've managed about 100 gamerpoints today. Excelcior!
Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting (360)
Played several more online Ranked matches today, mainly playing as Ken, but (sadly) also mostly lost them. Pah.
E. Honda players who just hammer the punch buttons annoy me. That's not playing, that's just retarded.
Anyway, I have now won/played 17/42 matches, which is better than many of the people I've seen online so far. I need 30 wins for an achievement, and 50 games played for another one.
Pac-Man (360)
Pac-Man was new on the XBLA downloads today, so I bought it and played it. Yes, it's just Pac-Man and is exactly the same Pac-Man as it was several decades ago, but still. I managed to rack up some 85 gamerpoints by unlocking achievements, but my score is crap - still under 10,000 points. Someone on my friends list is at about 58,000 at the moment. Bah.
Galaga (360)
Just the one go whilst I waited for Pac-Man to download. I managed a really good run, though, getting up to about level 8 or 9, and earning a score just shy of 60,000 points. OK, so it isn't a fantastic score by any means, but it's waaaay better than my previous 28,000-ish.
Interactive Fiction Game
For the last few days I've been working on this, using Inform 7. It's crap, it's unfinished, and there are probably still plenty of bugs, but it's mine! Huzzah. Have a play below, and see it update each time I update it.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Craaaazy Redd was about today, but his wares were rubbish, as I already had them all. So I punched him in the face. Hurrah!
My animals were a bit dull today too, as none of them wanted anything. Well, Sally asked me to deliver a letter, but that took all of five seconds so doesn't really count. Did a bit of weeding too, but that was pretty much it for today's jaunt to Cheese.
ポケモントローゼ (DS): COMPLETED!
Amazing! Three games in three days, after a lapse of a few weeks! I'm still somewhat behind on last year's game-a-week complete-a-thon (although I didn't expect to repeat it this year anyway), but at least I've caught up a little.
There was one more boss, and then after a couple more levels the final end of game boss. He was actually pretty difficult too, mainly due to the speed that the "well" fills up, but also due to his annoying ability to remove one of my run-of-four Pokémon lines just before they're matched up, thus losing me a load of time, thus killing me. Bah.
Anyway, after about eight attempts, he was defeated. Yay for me! Afterwards, it seems a harder game is unlocked. Well, I assume it's harder anyway. I don't see any other reason for being sent back to the beginning again.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
A new animal moved in today, presumably to replace Robin who moved out. She's another squirrel, called Sally. ACE.
None of my existing animals wanted me to do anything for them this evening - Rodeo didn't beg for clothes, Bluebear didn't ask for Modern Furniture, and no-one else was after anything either. Well, except Kabuki, who wanted me to go and catch a sweetfish. I couldn't be bothered with fishing today, so didn't. If the cat wants a fish, the cat can catch her own. Or his own. I forget.
ポケモントローゼ (DS)
I meant to play Magnetica, but I picked this up by mistake. Oh well - decided to work through it a bit more anyway!
I've completed much of the story mode, being on level 17 or so now. There's only one "boss space" remaining, and not a lot of actuall land left for more levels to open up in, so I'm fairly confident I'm nearing the end.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Using Magic Time Travelling Powers, I warped back to last night to catch K.K. Slider (who played me K.K. Chorale), and then wandered round town watching the fireworks. Tortimer gave me some sparklers and roman candles, which were great, only I couldn't use them to set fire to stuff. Which is a shame, as I wanted to torch Nookingtons.
Coloris (GBA)
And this gets a bit bloody hard too! I've been working through Basic, and am now up to level 12 or 13, but since level 10 the colours don't "run" from, say, blue to red - they cycle round, red-blue-yellow-red. This means that certain colours can't be changed by other colours. For instance, if you're on an orange one, and you make it "more blue", you get a black, unchangeable, block instead. Erk! It isn't "basic" any more!
Soundvoyager (GBA)
I seem to be working my way up the right-hand-side of the "level select" screen. I don't know if this a because I'm doing well, or doing poorly, but I suspect the latter as it's a bit bloody hard.
I can't do the second Sound Slalom level (which is the fourth level so far), and the level previous was really quite difficult. The best way to play is with headphones, and with your eyes closed. You get into some sort of trance-like state, and start imagining the sounds you're travelling towards. It is all very bizarre.
Tomb Raider: Legend (360): COMPLETED!
Well. Some people did say that it sort of fizzles out at the end, and, well, it pretty much does. The England level is pretty huge (with a puzzle that had me scratching for ages, and a huge boss fight), but Nepal that followed it was really very short, and incredibly easy. The final level was even shorter, and the end boss was the easiest of all the bosses in the game, which was a shame.
But anyway. Overall, I enjoyed the game, it's just at less then 9 hours play, it seemed somewhat short. There are the time trials (I tried the first one, and was too slow) and hard mode, as well as all the rewards, but I'm not sure I can be bothered with them. I'd have preferred another couple of levels. Labels: tomb raider
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
It has been a couple of weeks since I last played this, and the main thing that shows is that I kept trying to press buttons other than Y to jump, as I've been playing Tomb Raider: Legend and other 360 games. Warped to the Town Where Everyone Is Invisible, and finished off that quest (which was completed almost accidentally), and then decided, after saving, to slaughter everyone I could find. Hurrah!
