deKay's Gaming Diary
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
My animals were in a bit of a wanting mood today. Two of them were after clothes, one wanted furniture, and another (Kabuki) was wanting to move out and needed convincing to stay. I tried, but not especially hard.
Nook was buying turnips for 83 bells, so I didn't sell them, but I did manage to catch a few insects I hadn't previously seen about.
Top Spin 2 (360)
This was one of four games that came in the post today, and as soon as I turned it on, I saw my brother was online playing it. After about ten minutes in the training sessions of career mode, I played a few games against him and barely won a few points, let alone any games or sets.
Even changing my player was no use. I did manage to unlock an achievement by playing him, however.
After that, I worked my way through some of the career mode, and unlocked another achievement by actually winning a few games.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
A couple of days missed, but I used the Power Of Time Travel to return to last night and visit K.K. Slider (who played me K.K. Parade), and to visiti my animals and try to convince Rodeo not to move out.
Fast forward to this morning, and I bought some clothes and a bit of furniture, then bought 300,000 bells worth of 90 bells-a-go turnips from Joan. Rodeo didn't move out, and he asked me for some clothing, which I found for him. Bluebear also wanted stuff - Modern Furniture, of which I had a pile outside the town gates, so I fetched some for him/her/it.
Tomb Raider: Legend (360)
Finished up Ghana, where there was another boss battle, and then went over to Kajekstan (or however you spell it). No tomb there, either, just a Soviet research base, a train I had to chase on a motorbike, and some wantering through a giant Tesla device thingie.
Found Amanda, who is now baaaaad, and she unleashed another boss at me, which I had a job figuring out how to defeat. Turns out you don't, as such. Anyway.
Then it was off to Cornwall to what started off as an abandoned King Arthur Museum, and has now become and actual tomb. With fire and stuff. Hmm.
Saved there, and decided to try and open up some of the Croft Mansion. I picked up about 15 "awards" there in total (mostly all bronze) and collected my grappler, guns, and personal light source thing. Labels: tomb raider
Tomb Raider: Legend (360)
Finished off Peru, and then waded through Japan (yes, there wasn't much in the way of Tombs to Raid) and killed my first "boss".
Then it was off to Ghana, where I've managed to get inside another tomb, and start up some traps. Which doesn't sound like such a clever idea... Labels: tomb raider
Galaga (360)
No score improvements, sadly, but I did managed to unlock another achievement, leaving just the "perfect challenge stage" one remaining.
Tomb Raider: Legend (360)
Having owned the game now for a few months, and not even opened it, I thought it about time I made a start on it.
I've worked my way through Bolivia (which was the demo level I'd played previously, only longer), then arrived in Peru, done the town bit and motocycle chase sequence, done the "Lara as a teenager" section, and have now drained the dig site and am ready to find Amanda. Assuming she's still alive, anyway.
So far, I've managed to unlock two achievements and get 60 Gamerpoints. Huzzah! Labels: tomb raider
Galaga (360)
Bought this for 400 points on Xbox Live Arcade today, after briefly playing the demo and thinking the £3-ish was worth it. And it was.
It's just Galaga, plain and simple. With achievements and a leaderboard system, which suddenly make it $hlmun times more enjoyable.
So I played through until I got to Level 30 (no, not all in one go - Level 25 in particular caused some problems!), unlocking all bar two of the achievements. I haven't seen the Blue Spaceship thing yet, and haven't completed a Challenge Stage 100%, but I have everything else. My Gamerscore now stands at about 1480 points, which is some rapid increase from the 900 it was just a couple of weeks ago.
Leaderboard-wise, however, my score is just 28,000-ish. Which puts me above SomethingWitty, and so serves a purpose.
Cloning Clyde (360): COMPLETED!
It looks like I'm back in the swing of completing games! Huzzah!
I finished the two levels (Challenges 3 and 4, in fact), and that unlocked a (pretty easy) final level. Once that was complete, I saw the credits, got another achievement, and it was Game Over! I went back and redid one of the two levels where I didn't have all the Clydes and rescued some, and also found all of the remaining Killer Kenn dolls.
I now have just two achievements for this game left, one of which involves completing all the levels under par, and the other is for becoming "mutant Clyde", although I have no idea on how to do that...
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Bah. So Nan did move out. No chance of any goat curry in the near future, then. Bluebear has moved in, although not from my wife's town (where she moved out from the other day), she's actually come from Skipai's town, Otterdom.
Whilst chatting to my animals today, I found that Kabuki is in fact a boy, and not a girl at all (like he clearly was). How bizarre.
Cloning Clyde (360)
For a moment, I thought I'd completed the game. But obviously, I hadn't. I finished the last level and the last challenge (although I didn't get all the dolls or Clydes in either), and then assumed it was all over. But no.
It seems I have forgotten two challenge levels somewhere along the way. Tch, eh?
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
With no turnips to try and sell this week, I feel a little lost in Cheese. My animals can tell too, as Nan was packed ready to leave today, and Frobert suggested he might be off soon too. Go on. Leave me. See if I care. I gave you the best years of my life, and what do you give me in return? Nothing.
Crazy Redd was about today too, and he sold me the Triforce! Hurrah! It was 20,000 bells, though. 20,000 bells paled in comparison to the money spent in Mable and Sable's shop though - a cool million for a crown...
Cloning Clyde (360)
Worked through this quite a bit more today. I've now done all of the first three doors and the unlocked challenges I've come across so far. I've unlocked loads of achievements (well, only 80-ish points worth, but that's most of the actual things to unlocks), and have rescued all of the Clydes and collected all of the Killer Kenn dolls on every level so far.
It's a great game, but hasn't really been much of a challenge yet.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Hmm. I forgot to go and buy turnips yesterday. That'll make my play on Animal Crossing this week somewhat short and a bit pointless, I'd expect, since I won't have Mad Turnip Panic all the time.
Today I just visited animals, did a bit of weeding, and dug up TEN gyroids. It hasn't even rained much in the last few days, so I've no idea where they've all come from...
Cloning Clyde (360)
After playing the demo briefly, I caved in and bought this game, which is an Xbox Live Arcade download. Played it for a bit, finishing all of the levels in training and in the first door, as well as some of the unlocked Challenge Levels.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360): COMPLETED!
NINETY-ONE HOURS of gaming on Oblivion, and I've finally completed it. The last few play sessions have been a concerted effort to stay on-track and "do" the main quest, and it culminated this afternoon with me gaining the title Champion of Cyrodiil. I'm Winner!
I won't spoil everything, but needless to say it was a pretty long slog. My first task today was to obtain part of Tiber Septim's armour, stained with his blood. It was in a dungeon, and I had to "free" some Undead Blades there to get it. That was Part Two of Martin's set of things he needed to open a portal to Paradise.
Part Three was a Great Welkynd Stone, found in some Aelyid Ruins near to Chorral, and Part Four was a Great Sigil Stone. The Great Sigil Stone quest was somewhat "epic", with all of the soldiers from all of the towns in Cyrodiil, assisted by Martin and Jauffre, defending Bruma whilst I nipped inside a huuuuuge Oblivion Gate in a race against time to shut it down.
After that, I could warp to Paradise, and kill Camoran Mankar, and finally do the last bit of the main quest after that and "win" the game. Phew!
And now begins the rest of the game. I have almost all of the Fighters Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests to do, and still a few Mages Guild things to finish off. And that's beside all of the other side-quests, AND the downloadable content to add to the game. 91 hours, and I bet I'm not even half way done...
Uno (360)
Played a few rounds with two British guys and a bloke who kept speaking like a little girl. I hope he was just stoned or something.
Anyway, I lost. Completely. Bah.
Battle for Middle Earth II (Demo) (360)
I played just the training mode, which was rather too hand-holdy that I'd hoped for. The camera angle irritated me too, with it being too much "from the side" and not enough "from above" to make it actually useful like in other RTS games. The screen scrolls far too quickly as well, meaning you constantly pan past where you want to get to. In addition, the map in the corner is nigh on useless, the control scheme is irritating and you're constantly redirecting troops by accident as a result, and the unit voices are laughable at best.
I used to like RTS games, like Dune II (the best I've played), Command and Conquer, and Total Annihilation (with this game being like a cross between the latter two), but the combination of no mouse and keyboard, and counter-intuitive controls and commands make Battle for Middle Earth II less than great.
Hurrah for EA, eh?
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Turnip panic! Turnip panic!
I had 1,250,000 bells worth (at 95 bells or so each) of turnips to sell, and didn't get a decent price in the week at all. And today Nook was offering just 46 bells! Noooo!
Luckily, my wife's town had a price of 115 bells, which netted me a roughly 20% profit. Not the 4-500% I have been getting, but still - at least it isn't a loss. It did take me some 45 minutes to make the 8 or 9 trips getting them all over there. Phew!
I have a new animal in Cheese today - Kabuki the Cat. She looks like a freak with some kind of samurai face painting going on. I hate her already. Before quiting for the day, I visited K.K. Slider (for it is Saturday) and he played me K.K. Love Song.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
Oblivion Gates a-plenty!
I've now been round and closed all of the Oblivion Gates that the rulers of each town has asked me to do. I left the Imperial City until last, but after closing all of the others, I was told I'm completed that quest, so didn't bother going there.
After each gate was closed, I returned to my house in Bravil to dump my "spoils", which included a load of interesting rings and staffs, as well as an assortment of Sigil Stones. Plenty of alchemic ingredients too, should I decide to return to potion-making.
Now I need finish the next quest - to find the blood of Tiber Septim in a remote tomb thing.
Frogger (360)
Hmm. It seems that three people are now ahead of me in my Friend's Leaderboard. I attempted to recify this by improving my score. I managed a better score (about 15300-ish), but am still a little behind the "leaders". Bah.
Magnetica (DS)
It seems my wife has been playing this rather a lot, so many of the Puzzle Mode and Quest Mode levels have been completed already. Of course, you can go back and do them again.
So I did some of the earlier quests, tried the "newest" open one (and failed), tried the second Challenge in that mode (and got to level 69/99, rubbish) and completed a few incomplete puzzles in Puzzle Mode. I played them all with my new DS Lite Rumble Pak too, which arrived yesterday. It doesn't add a lot to the game, but it's nice anyway.
Dotstream (GBA)
Hmm. The first GP event in this that I played the other day was really easy, and I got first place in each race without a problem. However, the Flame GP is much, much harder. I managed one first place, one third, one last, and two retirements. I think the game must be broken.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Gah! Nook is RUBBISH. I know I've said that a lot, but still. He is. And he needs to be shot in the face. Apparently, only gamers shoot people in the face. Anyway.
So he offered me 54 bells today, which means I have ten billion turnips to sell and I'm not going to make any money on them this week.
Pierce moved out (again) today. I don't know if I've done something to upset him or anything. I haven't been talking to him much though. I don't care, as he was a crap resident anyway.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
To make a change from the Oblivion-gate-a-thon of the Aid for Bruma quest, I decided to get aid from Kvatch, where there isn't a gate any more (I closed it right near the beginning of the game, remember?).
Instead, I had to retake the castle there, and find the count. I had the help of a load of soldiers and stuff, but they were all crap and died fairly quickly. There were some huge new baddies inside the castle too, but they weren't that difficult to kill.
Anyway. I found the count, who was dead, and gained some Aid for Bruma as expected. Back to Gate closing next, I think.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Yet another day of disappointing turnip prices from Nook. Just 63 bells today. Went and had a chat with most of my animals, but it isn't the same without boy-girl Margie around. Mind you, I have had Pierce and Lobo both return, so there's a chance Margie might come back in the future...
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Nooooo! Nooooooooooo!
Margie has moved out! No warning at all. She was there yesterday, and now, she's gone. Rubbish. But look! Kody has moved back from Lancre. Great. I wish he was dead.
And Nook can just sod off too, with his 64 bells-a-turnip prices. And Redd, with his tent of crap.
Bah.
bit Generations Games (GBA)
Wow! The boxes! I can't believe how ACE the boxes for these three games look! They're all sleek and square and shiny! So, the first three bit Generations games from Nintendo turned up today. They're cheap, and simple, and "experimental". And two of the three are sexbest.
First up, was Dotstream. It's a racing game, but you control a line that races other lines. And there's no accelerate or brake buttons, and you can only steer up and down. But it's great! I completed the first GP, unlocked Formation Mode (where you have to steer several lines at once and collect dots), and really enjoyed it.
Then I played DialHex. It's like a cross between Hexic and Tetris, only different. There's no score, and you just have to arrange coloured triangles to create hexagons. Create enough of each colour (there are two to start) and you get another colour added to the mix. It is somewhat addictive.
Finally, there was Bounding. There are five game modes, all of which are basically variations on Pong. It isn't awful, not by a long way, but the other two games seem original and fresh and "trendy", and Bounding seems amateurish and dull and old.
If you want to buy them yourself, you can get them (and the other four in the series not yet released) from PlayAsia.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Not a lot going on in Cheese today. Nook is buying turnips for 72 bells, my animals are all content and didn't ask me to do anything (although Margie wanted me to deliver a letter).
Bunnie wants me to get a moustache for reasons that can only be evil. She's a strange rabbit.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
Haven't spent that long on this over the weekend, mainly as Frogger got in the way (who'd have thought that, eh?). Played it for about an hour this evening, mainly just entering and closing the Oblivion Gate outside of Leyawiin. I almost found the "wrong" gate too, as it seemed there were fahzands of them just east of the city.
Anyway. It was a pretty long slog through this one, and I completely missed out a tower that I was expecting to have to enter at some point. Another tower has a gate release mechanism in it, but I flipped the wrong lever at first and a prisoner fell to his death. Oops.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted (Demo) (360)
Oh, this isn't like Burnout at all, is it? It looks exactly the same, only with licenced cars. Played a race, which was pretty dull (no actual Burnouting or Takedowns), and then played a mode where you have to escape from the police, smash through roadblocks and stuff. It was pretty good fun, but the roadblocks seem to be positioned randomly and you appear to have to find them, rather than them just be where you're driving to anyway. Overall, it was OK, but nothing special.
Frogger (360)
With Skijumptoes leapfrogging (ha!) some people on the leaderboard, and Mike Mentalist close behind him, I was pressed to increase my lead again. And I did - 14880 points to the second place 12,000-ish. Powaz to me.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
MAXIMUM TURNIPAGE!!!!
I spent over 1,250,000 bells on 95-a-time turnips today. That, well, loads of them. Fahsands. I've dumped them all on "hard" ground, filling outside my house, outside Nook's, outside the museum, and loads of the ground outside the town hall. Aces. Now I just hope I can sell them at a profit...
Frobert asked me today if we could buy matching gym clothes and walk around together. Then he touched my bottom.
Buzz!: The Big Quiz (PS2)
We also played this. It seems that in 4-player mode you get some extra rounds not available in the 2-player game, which was a little confusing. Unfortunately for my co-players, I won this too. Sorry, and everything.
My prize was Tokyo. Yes, all of it.
Buzz!: The Music Quiz (PS2)
Played this round a friends' house. It was the first time I'd played in four player mode, and it is a bit more frantic with more on you on the buzzers. I was losing after the first two rounds, but the last few rounds completely turned the tables and I ended up winning. My prize? A desert island!
Point Blank (DS)
Played this for a bit. Having already looked at Beginner and Intermediate, I attempted Hard and then Insane. And oh yes, they're a bit hard, aren't they? Did really, really poorly on both (although strangely, I performed better on Insane).
Mutant Storm Reloaded (360)
Started again from Level 1, only this time on Yellow Belt difficulty. Managed to get the 4x Multiplier achievement, and also improved my score to well over 15,000,000 points (putting me up by about 5 places on my friends list). Got the difficulty up to 198% too, but then died. I need 200% for the next belt, you see. Bah.
Uno (360)
More online play in this, and I now have all bar three of the achievements unlocked. Still remaining are the Bluff, Win 10 4-player games and Win 40 games ones, which I think will come eventually with time.
Frogger (360)
Improved on my high score even further today, which is just as well as a couple of people on my friends list were inching closer. I'm now at just over 13,000, which should hold off my nearest competitor (SomethingWitty) at 10,000-ish for a while. Had a few more goes online in Coop mode, and the lag was awful again so gave up. Did manage to unlock the Chicken 2 achievement, though, as well as another one for completing Level 4.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Didn't have a lot to do in Cheese today, aside from a bit of weeding and some animal visiting. Checked turnip prices just to be completist, and Nook was offering 111 bells. Glad I sold up yesterday, then!
Also dug up a few gyroids and fossils, and sold them. Every bell helps for the turnip purchasing tomorrow...
Assorted Xbox Live Arcade Games (360)
I jumped between them quite a bit, so I'm lumping them all together here. I played Frogger a bit more, and got another achievement, but didn't improve my score. I played Uno a lot and got a few achievements there (and actually won an online game), and also played Mutant Storm Reloaded and improved my score, but didn't get any more achievements.
Frogger (360)
I managed to get a few more achievements on this today, played online in two-player for a bit (although online mode is horrendously laggy and effectively broken as a result), and rose to the top of my friend's list leaderboard with just over 10,000 points. I am clearly BESTEST.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Hurrah! Turnips were being bought for 348 bells today in Cheese, which is great price. Made about a million bells profit as a result. My wife came over to sell too (she'd not sold them all yesterday), as did a couple of WFC visitors.
Aside from all the selling, I visited my animals, and also caught a couple of fish. Looks like rainy season has finally stopped, as the sun was out today, and there were gyroids a-plenty!
Mutant Storm Reloaded (360)
And I also bought this with some of my excess points. It's abit like Geometry Wars, only more level-based. It is also about 986675325 times easier. I got up to Level 28, without dying, and unlocking two achievements in the process, and then gave up as it was bed time.
Uno (360)
Since I'd splashed out on Frogger, and I'd bought 2000 Points with which to buy it, I had some left over and as a result Uno was purchased.
I played just the one full game, online, against some random people. I won the first two hands, then narrowly missed the third, and then was way off on the fourth by which time someone else had won overall. Boo.
Frogger (360)
Yes. I bought it. I don't really know why, but I did. And it's ACE. I know it's only Frogger and everything, but having a leaderboard and achievements (of which I gained three) really makes more of the "get as many points as you can" gameplay.
Chromehounds (Demo) (360)
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
I was in a Turnip Quandry today, with Nook buying for 198 bells. I'm sure I can do better, but 198 is still a reasonable price. So what to do? Well, the same as I do every week, Pinky - try to take over the... uh, I mean, risk it, not sell them, and then hope someone online gets a better price tomorrow. I don't learn, do I?
Anyway. It was still raining, but I did manage to find a few fossils. My animals didn't want anything again too. I wonder if that's due to the rain? Did bump into Gracie, who gave me her usual quiz. I got a certificate from her too.
My wife then came over for a bit to sell her turnips, and talk to my animals. She's stolen Alfonso, which is fine as he's rubbish.
Prey (Demo) (360)
Hmm. I really didn't think I was going to like this. It was just going to be "another FPS", and I've had enough of them. I knew there were "gimmicks", like the walking on walls and portals and stuff, but that's all I thought there was over any other FPS.
I was a bit wrong. The story is great, and unexpected, and the graphics are lovely. The wall (and ceiling) walking is cleverly used, and the portals confuse and impress, and the opening sequence shows the Duke Nukem heritage. However, there seems to be too much swearing-for-no-reason in the dialogue and it is too bloody dark! I want nice wide open FPS games, in daylight!
All that aside though, I enjoyed it, and even played multiplayer (although I was crap and lost).
Frogger (Demo) (360)
This was new on Xbox Live Arcade today, so I downloaded the demo and had a look.
Why is everything so small? You can't see a thing! I blame my unusual crapness on that. Yes, that's it.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Still rubbish turnip prices this week. Of course, I rarely get a decent price anyway, and usually have to rely upon someone else getting a high price for me to sell in their town. Nook offered 74 bells today. Slap him.
Nan was trying to move out (again!) today, but I seemed to convince her. I wish I could remember which of my animals wanted the assorted shirts I've been buying over the last few days, though, as they're building up and no-one is asking me for them...
Geometry Wars Evolved (360)
Gah! I thought a quick blast on this might give me the most fantasticnessable score evaar. Sadly, the best I could manage in a few goes was a (frankly, awful) 81,000. RUBBISH. Labels: geometry wars
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Yet another briefest of brief visits to Cheese, to check up on my animals (none of which wanted anything, aside from a delivery errand for Margie), and to see turnip prices (63 bells). I'm having a bit of a fossil and gyroid drought at the moment, which is especially odd as it has rained almost every single day for over a week now.
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (DS)
ARSE!
Which is what the men shout, of course, and not a reference to how well I played today. Mostly re-did some levels on Hard mode, and did reasonably well there. For fun (or not), I tried Ready Steady Go! on Insane again, and just died. A lot.
This really is one of the best games I've ever played. If you have a DS, and you don't have this game, you really need to buy this now!
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Seven months I've been playing this game. Many times I've thought, "Why?" and yet have still kept on playing. I'm in a bit of a dip with it again at the moment, as there's not much going on and my animals don't seem keen to give me their pictures. Oh well - I'll plod on regardless.
Turnips were 74 bells, there wasn't much to buy that I didn't already have, and nothing much happened.
Brain Age (DS)
No, no training today. I don't do that any more. My brain is too huge as it is.
So I spent some time doing sudoku puzzles instead, taking my completion up to 34% done. I mainly did Beginner puzzles, but also did a couple of the Intermediate ones.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
Oblivion Gate closing spree!
First off, I had to help Captain Burd close the gate outside of Bruma. This was a pretty short task, although Burd's guards all died within seconds for being rubbish. With my wealth of enchanted items (I have a permanent 43% shield effect now, plus 10% for fire, front and shock, 50% for magic, and 20% reflect damage, on top of my sword of shock and assorted enchanted arrows) I barely suffered a scratch.
With the Sigil Stone got, it was back to Jauffre who said more gates were on the way, and I needed to enlist the help of the other cities to help defend Bruma and Cloud Ruler Temple. Off I went to Cheydenhal, where the Count told me he'd help, but only if I went into the Gate nearby and found his son and close it. So I did, but his idiot son died, and his idiot son's even more retarded friend dived off a bridge and into some lava for no reason at all. Anyway, the tower was quick and easy, and the gate was soon closed without any problems. The Count was pleased I closed it, and sent some help to Bruma.
I dumped some stuff (mainly daedra hearts and scamp skins, as well as some aces daedric weaponry) at my house in Bravil, then went to see the Count there for help. Again, he wanted the local Gate closed, so in I went. This one was a bit of a long trek, as I had to find a mechanism to unlock a war gate inside (which took ages to find), then do the tower. Luckily, it was all pretty simple, if time-consuming, and I was soon able to get more help up to Bruma. Returned to Cloud Ruler Temple to see what was going on (nothing) and saved my game. 83 hours in now!
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Turnip day! I had about 400,000 bells in my pockets, and spent the lot on white turnips costing 101 bells each. I've covered the "hard" ground outside my house with them all.
Had a new resident today - a bull called Rodeo. He said he wanted to be naked, and then he'd love to walk round town with me. I backed away then.
Didn't do a lot else in Cheese, except find and sell some fossils, and order a shirt for Nan from my catalogue.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Two main events in Cheese today. Firstly, I went to see K.K. Slider play at the museum. He performed K.K. Mambo for me. I then realised it was also La-di-day, so went and talked to all my animals who sang assorted songs. I picked Margie's in the end, to be the new town tune, as it was the first couple of bars from Super Mario Bros, and was therefore ACEBESTNESS.
Although I had no turnips to sell, I checked in with Nook for prices: 102 bells each.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
After a week absent from Cyrodill, I thought I should pop back and get on with the main quest. Firstly, I had to go and see Jauffre and Martin again, and then they set me up with a few separate quests. Firstly, I had to go to the north-east of the map, near the Temple of the Ancestor Moths, and find a daedric shrine. I then had to kill some Will o'the Wisps, to get Glow Dust, and then at dusk offer it to a daedric statue. That opened up a quest where I had to go and kill five vampires (yes, more vampires), and return with proof. Found an ace stash of arrows in the mine they were in too - some which flame damage, some that shock damage, some ice damage ones, and Arrows of Harm, which do 8pts more damage over existing arrows. Coupled with my Bow of Embers (which deals out 5pts of fire damage with each bolt), you can see I have a pretty hefty weapon.
With that, the statue gave me an artifact, which I gave to Martin. Jauffre then informed me there was an Oblivion Gate open just outside Bruma, and I should help the captain of the Bruma guard to close it, basically showing him how to do so. Got all my weapons repaired and charged, and dumped a load of stuff I didn't need in my Bravil house, and so I'm ready to go in...
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Wendell was about today, so I fed him another of my red turnips, and he gave me another country guitar in return. I think I must have exhausted all of the combinations of stuff he gives out, although I'm still short of some pictures of "non resident" animals.
Checked turnip prices just before 11PM, as I'd forgotten to do so earlier, and found Nook buying for 468 bells! Dashed back and sold them all, but couldn't make it online to open my gate for usenetters to come in before Nook shut at 11. Oh well.
Bunnie wasn't impressed with my delivery failure today either. She had a right old shout at me.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Nook offered me 80-something for turnips today. I didn't sell, as I'm expecting a high price at some point this week.
Not much else was going on in Cheese. None of my animals are pestering me for stuff, although I have just realised that Bunnie wanted me to deliver a parcel and I forgot to do so. Oops.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Yes - another quick play. Nan took a shirt from me, then asked for another, which I gave her, and in return she gave me the first one back again. Ungrateful cow. Or goat. Or whatever.
Turnips were a rubbish 56 bells today, which I wasn't prepared to sell them for (obviously), and I found and sold a few fossils and stuff.
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (DS)
It has been some time since I last played this, but now I have my DS Lite and a nice long wooden stylus (from Blue on the rllmuk forums), I thought I'd give doing Ready Steady Go (the final level) on Insane mode. Of course, I was rubbish being out of practise for so long. Went back to Hard mode instead, and redid some levels there, getting better scores than I'd had previously.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Another brief play today. I suspect this week will be somewhat short on time played, actually.
So turnips were 60-something bells, and none of my animals asked me for any items, so I didn't actually need to play for long anyway. Margie was still around too, so he/she obviously isn't going anywhere just yet.
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
The briefest of brief plays on this tonight, just to check to see if Margie was still about (she was), and to see if it was worth flogging turnips to Nook (72 bells each says "no").
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
Using the power of time travel, I visited K.K. Slider last night and he played me K.K. Samba. I then wound forwards to this morning, and bought some turnips (only 1500 though) for 92 bells each, and then had a chat to my animals. Boy-girl Margie was packed up ready to leave, so I told her to stay. When I finally caught the time up, she was still there so maybe she isn't going to move out.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
Cripes. That was a bit of a long quest! Basically, I've now finished the Thieves Guild questline (50 more Gamerpoints got, too), but can't say too much for fear of spoilers. What I will say, however, is there's a huge trek through the Imperial City sewers, then through "The Old Way", a secret passage to underneath the palace, then through the palace dungeons, and finally some sneaking inside the palace.
Oh yes, and then you have to get out again.
It took me well over an hour, but 'tis done now. Huzzah! And my saved game says over 76 hours play now. Add to that all the time I've spent messing around (like my random guard killing sprees) where I don't save, and I'd say I've been playing well over 80 hours now. Longest game evar!
Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
I got a new resident in Cheese today - Mallory from "fedic". Went and said hello, and then spent a while digging up fossils, selling them, and talking to animals. It was a flea market day today, but I didn't buy much as everything I wanted wasn't for sale, and everything for sale I didn't need for my catalogue. No aurora knit yet either. Tch.
