Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD (PS3): COMPLETED!

It seemed very hurried towards the end. Years were skipped. Very little story exposition happened. Events just occurred in quick succession, and I realised how linear this Assassin’s Creed game actually was. I’d started to suspect a twist at the end, and by the end of Sequence 7-ish I’d realised what it was. The ending threw me, until (spoiler), and the Citizen E thing happened. Overall, it wasn’t a bad game, but it’s probably the worst Assassin’s Creed title in …

Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD (PS3)

On the PS3, you say? Am I mad, you ask? Yes, and possibly yes. In my defence, I had a load of PSN credit and it was on sale. And I’d been playing and enjoying Assassin’s Creed IV. So it made a bit of sense. Currently, I’m about half way through the game (just returned from Mexico, for those in the know), and I’ve noticed that the game seems about half finished. No, those are two different things. What I …

Liberation Maiden (3DS): COMPLETED!

It’s a short game, sure. The reviews all seem to centre on that fact. It doesn’t matter, as it’s utterly fantastic. Five levels (well, four as the fifth plays a bit differently) of Kid Icarus Uprising/Rez hybrid gameplay, with lovely graphics and nonsense plot: You’re a female president of Japan who must save the country from an unknown enemy by piloting a flying transformer whilst wearing a tight fitting catsuit. Obviously. Took me about two hours to complete, but I’ve …

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue (360)

While my 360 was on, I thought I might as well make a start on this. I wasn’t sure how much I was going to enjoy it, as I knew there was a lot more boating, like there was in Black Flag, and I’m not keen on the idea of being a Templar who used to be an Assassin either – although I do have a theory about that, which I’ll mention in a minute. I’m only half way through …

Assassin’s Creed III (Wii U): COMPLETED!

Well, I’m glad I didn’t spoil the ending for myself before getting to it at least. Not nearly as bad as people had made out though. There may be spoilers to follow… I didn’t like the final two “boss” fights. Haytham’s was complete rubbish and different to any other fight in the game, and Charles Lee’s was basically a chase followed by a cutscene. You don’t actually get to properly assassinate either of them – it’s done for you by …

Eurogamer 2012

I haven’t been to a proper games show since, ooh, 2001? 2002? Whenever it was I went to ECTS, anyway. Ah, ECTS. Games show for people who like Gran Turismo 3 and steering wheels, and not much else. Good times. What did I think of the games? Well, a quick run through: New Super Mario Bros U (Wii U) Awesome. Going to be excellent playing this with my daughter on the screen. Sure, it’s mostly more of the same as …

Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage (360)

Yes! It’s back to Fallout 3! There was a new expansion recently, called Operation Anchorage, and with Lego Indiana Jones completed, I decided to make a start on it. Once in the game, you get a message saying there’s a radio signal from the Brotherhood Outcasts, and a new marker on the map. Once there, you help them out for a bit, then you’re put in a computer simulator (like the Tranquillity Lane ones), and take part in a recreation …
